What are parabens anyway?

Parabens are a class of chemicals that are used by some manufacturers as preservatives in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. There is a lot of controversy over the safety of these chemicals.

Parabens may be very dangerous!

The European Scientific Committee on Consumer Products says that the available data on parabens cannot determine propyl, butyl and isobutyl parabens can be safely used in cosmetics - much less shampoo and soaps which are used all over the skin. Parabens have been linked with the acceleration of the growth of tumors.
